When did I? collects nothing. There are no accounts, no servers, no analytics, no advertising and no third-party SDKs. Everything you enter stays on your device. The rest of this page is the detail behind that sentence.

When did I? is made by an independent developer in Norway.

What When did I? collects about you

Nothing.

There is no account system and no sign-up. There is no backend server, and the app makes no network requests of any kind. There is no analytics SDK, no crash-reporting SDK, no advertising SDK and no third-party code in the app that could collect or transmit information about you.

That means there is no data to sell, share, profile, or hand to anyone else, because none of it ever reaches us in the first place.

What is stored on your device

When did I? stores what you put into it, locally, so it can do its job:

  • The things you choose to track, and their names
  • The times you record for each of them
  • Any interval you set, and whether a reminder is switched on
  • Your ordering and display preferences

This lives in a local database inside the app's own container, shared with the Home Screen widget so the widget can show the same figures. Deleting an item deletes its whole history with it. Deleting the app removes all of it.

iCloud sync is not enabled in this version, so this data does not leave your device.

Notifications

If — and only if — you switch a reminder on for something, the app asks iOS for permission to send you a notification. Those reminders are scheduled and delivered by your device. Nothing about them is sent to us or to anyone else, and the app never asks for notification permission until you switch a reminder on yourself.

Siri and Shortcuts

The names of the things you track are offered to Siri and the Shortcuts app so you can log by voice. That handoff happens on your device, through Apple's App Intents system. Your use of Siri is governed by Apple's privacy policy, not this one.

Location, contacts, photos, health

None of them. When did I? never asks for location, contacts, photos, camera, microphone, HealthKit or any other permission beyond the notification permission described above.

Children

When did I? is not directed at children under 13 and, collecting no personal information from anyone, does not knowingly collect any from them.

Your rights

Because no data ever reaches us, there is nothing for us to disclose, correct, export or delete on your behalf — and no request you could make that would reveal anything, because we hold nothing about you. The data is on your device and entirely under your control. Deleting the app deletes it.

Changes

Material changes to this policy will be published on this page with a new date at the top.
